Indecon is actively involved in the development of ecotourism by conducting
research in the field of ecotourism. Some of the examples include:
- Research aiming to identify best practices in community-based ecotourism
within conservation areas in Indonesia. This research was conducted
in cooperation with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES)
Japan as part of research carried out in Asia Pacific level.
- Research on the identification of tourism potential in Bengkalis
District, Riau Province.
- Research on ecotourism potential in Tangkahan, Langkat District,
North Sumatra.
- Feasibility study on the opportunity to develop ecotourism in Batang
Gadis National Park. This research was conducted in collaboration with
Conservation International Indonesia.
- Feasibility study on ecotourism development in Jamursba, Papua, a
study carried out in cooperation with WWF Indonesia.
