WAY KAMBAS NATIONAL PARK

This national park occupies 1300 sq km of coastal lowland forest around the Sungai Way Kambas on the east coast of Lampung, 110 km from Bandar Lampung. The park is home to five pairs of rhinos, the occasional Sumatran tiger and – the main attraction – elephants. The Way Kanan ‘resort’ is little more than a small guesthouse in a jungle clearing on the banks of the Sungai Way Kanan, about 13 km from the entrance to the national park. Guided activities include three hours jungle treks and two-hours canoe trips on the Sungai Way Kanan and surrounding waterways.

How to get there
From Bandar Lampung, Way Kambas national park can be reached by bus or by car that takes two and a half hours journey.
