BALURAN NATIONAL PARK

Baluran National Parks occupies an area of twenty five thousand hectares in the far n ortheast of Java.
The Park's unique attraction is the opportunity to observe wild animals in Java's last remaining natural savannah, which accounts for about forty percent of the Park's total area.

The Park has placed observation towers in strategic positions for use by visitors.
The variety of wildlife to be seen at Baluran is quite extensive, and includes the buffalo, deer and banteng (Javanese wild ox), which can frequently be seen grazing on the open savannah. Bird species include the green jungle fowl, kingfisher, bee-eater, owl and peacock.

How to get there
From Surabaya take the coast road that head to Banyuwangi via Probolinggo by public buses or by cars and stop right at the park entrance. Alternatively, visitors that come from Bali can take the route heading to Wonorejo from Banyuwangi.

Best season to visit
June to November every year.
